Meet the Burros
-
Chester is our very first donkey here on the farm, and he's already made a huge impact! At just 1 years old, he's full grown at 31" tall to the shoulder, with his soft brown coat and the sweetest personality. Chester is very playful and full of energy. He loves to zoom around the farm and pretend he is in the donkey derby whenever he's not practicing in his halter! When it comes to treats, nothing makes him happier than animal crackers and a good head and chin scratch!
As your official beer burro, Chester is ready to carry and serve whatever fits your event best. His baskets can be filled with ice-cold beer, kids' drinks, snacks, party favors, business cards - you name it! Chester brings more than refreshments - he brings charm, laughter, and plenty of photo opportunities as well to every occasion.

Dolly is our sweet and gentle new addition to the Cheers With Ears family. She is 6 years old, is a standard-sized donkey, and has a very sweet, calm and endearing personality.
Dolly is a bit shy since she is still adjusting to her new home, but she’s is already making great progress and learning so quickly! She loves her animal crackers and a good brush.
Dolly and Chester are already the best of friends and we can’t wait for you to meet her and see her blossom! She will be ready to join Chester in business very soon!
THE STORY THEY CARRY
Every donkey carries a story that’s been told for generations - a reminder of love, humility, and devotion.
According to Christian legend, when Jesus rode a humble donkey into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday, that little animal was forever marked by His love. The shadow of the cross fell across its back, leaving the back marking that every donkey still carries today.
It’s said that when Jesus gently held the donkey’s face to thank him, His hands touched the donkey’s ears, leaving the darker shading we see there. Where He held the donkey’s nose, the white muzzle appeared - a sign of His gentle touch.
And as the donkey watched what followed with great sorrow, it wept for Jesus, and the white around its eyes formed as a reminder of those tears.
The donkey’s light-colored belly is said to represent the purity and kindness of the heart that carried the Savior - humble, faithful, and full of peace.
So today, every donkey bears those same markings - the cross, the dark ears, the white nose, the tearful eyes, and the light heart - as symbols of faithfulness, peace, and love.
Chester and Dolly both carry those same beautiful signs, reminding us daily of the gentle hearts and loyal spirits these animals were created with.💛
